1. PRP Injections (Platelet-Rich Plasma) – Intraarticular Use in Orthopedics

Procedure:

• Soft tissue masses (lipomas, sarcomas).

• Joint effusions of unknown origin.

• Suspected infections (osteomyelitis, septic arthritis).

Procedure:

1. Preparation: Local anesthesia may be used.

2. Aspiration: A thin needle is inserted into the lesion to extract cell samples.

3. Sample Analysis: The extracted cells are sent for cytological examination.

4. Reporting: Pathologists analyze the sample to detect malignancy, infection, or inflammation.
