What If IgG is Positive and IgM is Also Positive?

  • This could indicate a recent or active infection, but IgM can remain positive for months.
  • A Toxoplasma IgG avidity test may be needed to distinguish a recent infection from an old one.
  • If pregnant, urgent follow-up is required to assess the risk to the baby.
