Rubella IgM Antibody Test

The Rubella IgM Test detects IgM antibodies against the rubella virus, which causes German measles (Rubella). IgM antibodies indicate a recent or active infection and are especially important during pregnancy, as rubella can cause severe birth defects.

Why is the Test Done?

A doctor may order a Rubella IgM test if a patient has:

How is the Test Done?
